My interest in painting lies in the place where the natural landscape and the man-made environment meet.
I like to look at the patterns that the two environments make, especially in contrast with each other – the rounder and more varied shapes of the natural landscape against the more rigid and regular features of the manmade landscape.I paint in oil and pastel. I received my art education at Middlebury College in Vermont and from the variety of art courses I take wherever I live. Highlights include the Visual Arts Centre in Westmount, Quebec, and a workshop with Wolf Kahn in Maine. My paintings are in Galerie La Palette in Beaconsfield, Quebec, Stewart Hall in Pointe Claire, Quebec and Edgewater Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. |
J’aime observer les contrastes entre le paysage naturel et l’environnement humaine – les formes plutôt rondes et organiques du paysage contre les formes plus architecturales et régulières de l’environnement humaine.
Voici ce que j’aime exprimer dans mes oeuvres d’art. J’utilise l’huile et pastel sec. J’ai fait des études en arts plastiques à Middlebury College au Vermont, et à travers plusieurs cours à différents endroits. Les principaux sont au Centre d’Arts Visuels à Westmount, Québec, et un atelier avec Wolf Kahn au Maine.
